The Photographic Series
Timeshifting Prague
Avalatara is proud to present the first two works of her series Timeshifting Prague in June 2026.
For 30 years she has been building up a photographic record of the city of Prague on panchromatic black-and-white film — developed by hand by the artist herself. During a recent review of her archive, Avalatara found herself staring at scenes she recognized only now, decades later, through the Bitcoin lens.

Glitches in the matrix, long before the whitepaper
At first glance
Timeshifting Prague is a series of classic black-and-white photographs, showing scenes from Prague between 1997 and 2005.
Upon closer inspection
however, small glitches in the matrix present themselves in each photograph, revealing that Prague’s destiny as the European capital of Bitcoin was written long before the whitepaper.
The series is launched with two works in June 2026
